Divorce

Each case is different, but the majority of Texas divorces follow these steps: petition for divorce, temporary orders (if necessary), discovery of evidence, settlement negotiations/mediation, trial (if no settlement could be reached), and after trial. There is a “cooling off” period, a mandatory 60 day period, following the filing of a petition for divorce before a final order for divorce can be entered with the court.
